What is the 5G Trial?

We are running a 5G access trial to new and existing mobile customers who sign up to or are already on our Large Monthly plans. This means that all Eligible Customers will have access to our 5G Network until further notice.

If I am already on these plans, can I still access the 5G trial?

Yes! Customers who are already on these plans will have access to the 5G network.

Do I have to pay for this trial?

You will not be charged any additional costs (ie. you are only required to pay the fees for your Eligible Plan) and all your standard inclusions for your chosen plan will remain the same.

What happens after the Trial period ends?

Watch this space, based on review of the trial we will ensure clear communication to everyone about what happens next.

Why was I contacted when I don't have 5G in my area or a 5G device?

If you are not interested in 5G there is nothing you need to do. Otherwise, you can review 5G coverage and approved devices we know will work on the Vodafone network to gain access

How do I know if my mobile is connected to 5G?

'5G' should display on the top of your home screen when you're connected to the 5G network. Device can switch between 3G, 4G and 5G networks depending on available coverage areas.

Can I make a call over the 5G network?

5G is currently data only. Call on 5G capable devices, will revert to 4G or 3G networks

What if I do not want to participate, or continue in the Trial?

Please ensure to turn 5G off in settings on the compatible device, you can see some guides on manual network settings here.

We are offering a 5G access trial ('the Trial') on Eligible Plans to new and existing Kogan Mobile customers ('Eligible Customers') who sign up to, or are currently on the Large Monthly Plan ($40/month). This means that all Eligible Customers will have access to our 5G Network until further notice. If you do not want to participate in the Trial, please ensure you turn 5G off in your settings on your compatible device. If you are an Eligible Customer and would like to participate in the Trial, you don't need to do anything to access the Trial, however, you must: (1) have an active mobile recharge on an Eligible Plan; (2) have a 5G compatible device; and (3) be in a 5G coverage area. Please use our coverage checker to find out more about our 5G coverage. If you choose to participate in the Trial, you will not be charged any additional costs (ie. you are only required to pay the fees for your active recharge on an Eligible Plan) and all your standard inclusions for your chosen plan will remain the same. The Trial will continue until further notice.
